Roytan Gundogs

My lovely Midi, mother of Taya and Esme, grandmother to Connie, Carrick, Martha and the nine beautiful new puppies, has left me suddenly last evening, with no warning. I went to take them all for their normal 7.30 evening walk and there she was. She looked very peaceful in her sleep, in bed with her friends, but I am finding it very hard to feel peaceful with my emotions as I was not with her. We think it must have been a heart attack as only in the morning I had promised to take her shooting a couple of times this season, so even though she was 11 years old she was as fit as the others. Midi gave us 4 wonderful families which in turn have brought so much happiness to so many people, so I will do my best to remember the good times and send her with all my love to that happy hunting ground.

Very pleased to announce that “Diva” , Roytan Free Speech, has passed her KC Good Citizen Silver Award in Brighton last week, this time handled by Alan who should be very proud as she is still only 7 months old!…(and a Vizsla!)

I am pleased to add Mark Sayers to our links page. Mark is now a police checked dog walker and used to train here with us on Wednesdays.

Clare Cuthbert has let me know that her own Roytan Maytime (Tally) and Jo Thomas’ Roytan Peter Pan (Buddy) have both done well at their local agility fun Dog Show in Essex. Tally won the dog with the waggiest tail and was second in Judges Favourite, and then went on to come 4th in the overall championship of winners! In the afternoon Jo with Buddy WON the agility with a faultless round, and Tally came third! What a brilliant, fun day out for all! Well done!

On Friday October 3rd at the tender age of not quite 6 months Roytan Free Speech aka Diva has passed her KC Bronze Good Citizen Award with proud owner and handler Steve Perry. They have enrolled for the silver which is quite something for a Vizsla of that age! Congratulations and very well done.

Sunday 5th October 2008, judge Sara Barnard, and Bitch Challenge Certificate goes to Roytan Slipstream for Kincsem who all of us know by now is Niska! Huge congratulations to Sara Jane Rutherford! This simply endorses the quality of this fabulous 6 going on 7 year old bitch!

On Friday September 26th, at West Chiltingdon Dog Club, Roytan Evening Star (aka Benjie) took and passed his GOLD Kennel Club Good Citizen! Very very well done to Theo and Benjie!

On Thursday night September 25th, Killarney whelped her second litter of 11 beautiful puppies to Holton Jupiter of Beauport. All doing well.

On Sunday 21st September the above club ran its novice dog/novice handler and veteran gundog working tests at Gardners Farm Ashburnham. Winning the veteran was very proud Wendy Harrison with Roytan Creme Caramel of Chalvington (aka “Crumble”) and 4th in veteran was also very proud me! with Roytan Annie’s Girl (aka “Merit”). Bailey (Conneywarren Primrose at Roytan) also took part and did herself proud, holding her head high as at 12 1/2 years of age, she now goes into a well deserved retirement.

On Sunday September 7th, Beshlie (Roytan Liberty) came 3rd in Limit Bitch to qualify for Crufts. Nothing for “Seven” this time.
