A good result from a 50/50 chance, as although Dad is obviously clear, Killarney herself is a carrier.

Not quite so lucky for Linda Wilcockson as her “Esme” daughter  has come back same as mum, carrier.

The brilliant thing is the knowledge that there need never again be pups destined to go blind with PRA, as long as the carriers are bred to clear mates.

So the happy news is that one of Rula’s first litter from 4 years ago has just won his Stud Book No at the Kennel Club by coming 1st in Limit Dog at the Gundog Society of  Wales Championship Show yesterday. Proud owner Kerry Brown has tried hard all these years and  it all came right for her with her lovely “Gus” aka Roytan Place Your Bet. Congratulations on qualifying for Crufts for life!
