Phoebe is gundog trained and picks up on the local shoot. She has completed working tests although has never been placed. She stood well at Crufts (2002)in Open Bitch being placed in the cut from 20 top class bitches. This may not seem much, but her litter of pups was only 7 weeks old on the day she achieved this! One of these pups was Roytan Slipstream.
2005 Phoebe’s claim to fame! is that she is Roytan Slipstreams’ mum and how proud are we all? Her gentle and loving character has shone through to all her pups.
She has had 3 litters and is now enjoying life as a sprightly 8 year old beating and picking up on the local Ashburnham Shoot

2007 Did some beating on the shoot this season
2008 Martin took her beating on a couple of days and she came out with me on beaters day. She is 12 years old now but still enjoying herself and enthusiastic
2009 Martin took her shooting for the last time, I am sure she is going to miss it next year.
2010 Phoebe has settled in to “kitchen” life and has decided that retirement the relaxed way is quite good after all!
2012 March 12th.
As I fed the Labrador puppies just now at 12 o’clock, the radio was playing a beautiful violin rendition of Freddie Mercury’s “Who wants to live forever?” As I sat with the puppies, the music brought tears down my cheeks and the puppies licked away the sadness. I had just said goodbye to Phoebe. She has no cancer now, my grand old lady is whole again and if she was with me right now she would want to go for a walk in the sunshine.
