Seven’s flame burned strong and true for all her seven years. When it flared brightly yesterday, I knew it was using the last of its energy and that soon it must go out. So today, before the spark in her eyes that kept the flame alive, began to dull, and before it struggled to burn, I let her go.
I dearly hope that where she is now she will rekindle the flame to live out the years which should have been hers, and I will remember her for her softness, her strength and her loyalty, her wonderful zest for life and thank her for the gift she has given me in Halley.
