Roytan Gundogs

On Saturday July 2nd, Halley (Roytan Hale-Bopp) gained Reserve (4th) in her first Post Graduate class,  just missing qualification this time.

Pleased to report that back in February,” Oscar”  (Roytan Shining Star) belonging to Paul and Lorri,  passed his Bronze award and last month  ”Bronte” (Roytan Esmeralda)  passed her Bronze award with owner Anthony. “Beretta” (Roytan Klay Pigeon) received her Puppy Assessment pass yesterday with Viv Rose. Well done all.

Great news for BB and Beretta. They have both tested Clear for PRA at Optigen!

Yesterday Fenner whelped 8 lovely puppies to Wylanbriar Maybe Tomorrow. She has 3 sons and 5 daughters and mum and babes are doing well.

For AGG it was March 19th and everyone joined in to make it fun and successful. You all raised £306.50 which has gone off to join that huge record breaking total. I am proud to have been just a tiny drop of it! Pictures are on the Gundog Page and the Forum

I hope everyone who went to the NEC…such a long way! had a memorable day and enjoyed the experience. It was great to see so many friends old and new.

I took Halley (Roytan Hale-Bopp) to her first ever Crufts and she had to make the journey on her own. Not only did she behave impeccably, but she was awarded VHC in her Special yearling class in very good company…so I am thrilled to bits! She was also entered in the Good Citizen Class which she won and came away with that rather special red rosette too!

Roytan Teddy Boy (Monte) and Roytan Khaki (Sonny)also entered the Gamekeepers Ring with proud owners Simon Oliver and Andrew Nicholson and although they were not in the awards, made a very good first appearance.

CH Roytan Slipstream for Kincsem won Veteran Bitch and also Field Trial Bitch.

All in all a very good day!

How can I put into words how I feel? Yesterday, so soon, I lost Farah…so suddenly that it has shaken me to the core and I can’t stop crying, showing my human failing of being emotionally unwilling and unprepared, needing time to come to terms before acting. But for her sake, I faltered for only 12 hours before affording her the same dignity and respect that she always gave me. I wished for another miracle but maybe Farah herself with her unfailing selflessness, gave me that extra day to come to terms with her sudden blindness.

No fumbling around the field for my 30 mile an hour girl, my mouse digger, my unerring solid rock of a Vizsla, my Farah.

I was with her when she was born, and I was with her today as she left me behind. Sixteen years is a long old time to have such a good brave friend, and I shall miss her and all her funny ways. God bless Sophie.

Martha (Roytan Field Maple) gave birth by Caesarian to 8 beautiful puppies, 4 boys and 4 girls on Sunday January 30th. Mum and babies all doing well.
