Roytan Gun Dogs

Just to let you all know that my broadband is very dodgy at the moment, right on the limit of reception something seems to be wrong and its proving difficult, so I may not be able to reply or answer emails or forums for a while. Bear with me please. Hopefully sort it out but its a case of typing between cuts, like now, and talking on the phone to computer messages!

We all said goodbye to Bun yesterday. I have shown my words in pictures on our forum. Chelsea never had any puppies but if I ever kept another I know what her name would be.

Gundog Day was Friday 12th December and Roytan Place Your Bet (Gus) owned by a very proud Kerry Brown, qualified for Crufts by coming 3rd in Post Graduate Dog. Well done and good luck at Crufts!

At Cross in Hand Ringcraft Dog of the Year competition on Tuesday night Uma (Roytan Seven of Nine) came second in Pup of the Year! Well done Hannah!

I am pleased as punch to say that Martha ( Roytan Field Maple) passed her Bronze Good Citizen on Tuesday night at Battle Dog Training School!

I am very proud to announce that Jill Blackadder’s lovely Edith has passed all her assessments to become a PAT dog. For those of you who may not know, this means that Jill and Edith can go around hospitals, nursing and care homes to provide therapy for the patients/residents. A very worthy and commendable attainment. Well done both.

My lovely Midi, mother of Taya and Esme, grandmother to Connie, Carrick, Martha and the nine beautiful new puppies, has left me suddenly last evening, with no warning. I went to take them all for their normal 7.30 evening walk and there she was. She looked very peaceful in her sleep, in bed with her friends, but I am finding it very hard to feel peaceful with my emotions as I was not with her. We think it must have been a heart attack as only in the morning I had promised to take her shooting a couple of times this season, so even though she was 11 years old she was as fit as the others. Midi gave us 4 wonderful families which in turn have brought so much happiness to so many people, so I will do my best to remember the good times and send her with all my love to that happy hunting ground.

Very pleased to announce that “Diva” , Roytan Free Speech, has passed her KC Good Citizen Silver Award in Brighton last week, this time handled by Alan who should be very proud as she is still only 7 months old!…(and a Vizsla!)

I am pleased to add Mark Sayers to our links page. Mark is now a police checked dog walker and used to train here with us on Wednesdays.

Clare Cuthbert has let me know that her own Roytan Maytime (Tally) and Jo Thomas’ Roytan Peter Pan (Buddy) have both done well at their local agility fun Dog Show in Essex. Tally won the dog with the waggiest tail and was second in Judges Favourite, and then went on to come 4th in the overall championship of winners! In the afternoon Jo with Buddy WON the agility with a faultless round, and Tally came third! What a brilliant, fun day out for all! Well done!
